Samira Sohail

Returning Home, Returning to Self

After nearly a decade abroad, Samira Sohail completed the Hoffman Process just before returning to London, using it as a bridge between two chapters of her life. While her external circumstances remained largely unchanged, the Process brought a quiet but profound internal shift, helping her recognise patterns of over-responsibility, inherited emotional behaviours, and a tendency to prioritise strength over self-care. With greater awareness, Samira began to relate to herself and others differently, choosing presence over performance and intuition over habit. This shift has led to more grounded decision-making, deeper relationships, and a stronger sense of alignment in her life. Today, she describes a more intentional and connected way of being, supported by an ongoing relationship with the Hoffman tools and community as she continues this next chapter back in London.

Dee Cowburn

Hope, the golden thread through life

After experiencing profound loss, first through the death of her mother and later through her daughter’s life-limiting diagnosis, Dee found herself relying on control, busyness, and emotional suppression to cope. While these strategies sustained her for a time, they ultimately left her disconnected from her feelings and overwhelmed by the realities of her life. Through the Hoffman Process, she began to recognise these long-standing patterns and understand how they were shaping both her inner world and her parenting. Reconnecting with her emotions and prioritising self-care allowed her to show up with greater presence, authenticity, and resilience. Today, Dee describes a life that holds both challenge and hope. She is more confident, more expressive, and committed to supporting other parents navigating similar journeys, while embracing a deeper sense of connection to herself and her family.

Helena Barham-Coppola

Finally smelling the roses

After hitting a personal and professional low while working as a chef in London, Helena Barham-Coppola found herself battling depression, anxiety, and the aftermath of a turbulent relationship. Despite rebuilding her life, retraining as a nutritional therapist, and starting her own business, she continued to struggle with burnout, self-worth, and deeply ingrained patterns from her childhood. Through the Hoffman Process, Helena began to understand the beliefs and emotional patterns that had shaped her life, particularly her tendency to suppress feelings and tie her worth to productivity. Reconnecting with her emotional self and challenging these patterns allowed her to develop greater confidence, authenticity, and self-trust. Today, Helena describes a life that feels more balanced and expansive. She works as a nutritional therapist and transformational coach, supporting others while living with a renewed sense of joy, creativity, and presence.

Mark Tandy

The gift of showing up

At a crossroads in midlife, with a stable career, marriage, and family, Mark Tandy realised something was missing beneath the surface. Though life appeared full, he was emotionally distant, living in his head and avoiding deeper connection. Through the Hoffman Process, he began to understand how his childhood patterns had shaped his tendency to withdraw and avoid emotion. As those patterns became visible, he developed a greater capacity for presence, particularly in his relationship with his daughter. Today, he describes a quieter but more meaningful shift: being more available, more connected, and more fully engaged in his life and relationships.

Paul Burrows

Running out of love, and finding a way back

Approaching 50, Paul Burrows, a data analyst and running events organiser, had built a life that looked successful from the outside. Living on the island of Jersey, he enjoyed his work and financial stability, but privately he was struggling with loneliness, emotional overwhelm, and repeating patterns in his relationships. Through the Hoffman Process, he began to understand how his early experiences had shaped those patterns and developed a new relationship with his emotions. With greater awareness and self-compassion, Paul is now living with more connection, balance, and a deeper sense of self.
