In addition, our local coordination and care teams are here to ensure your experience — from first contact to post-Process support — is handled with warmth, professionalism, and discretion.
Robert Hoffman (1922-1997)
Based in California, Bob Hoffman developed a series of techniques that helped people reconnect with their emotional self and move towards forgiveness. He coined the term 'Quadrinity' to describe the four aspects of our being — Intellect, Emotions, Body and Spirit — and structured the Process around the principles of Awareness, Expression, Compassion & Forgiveness, and New Behaviour.
Over time, with input from psychologists, educators and thinkers, the Process evolved into the immersive, seven-day retreat it is today. Bob retired from teaching the Process in 1991 yet remained active in his work until his death in 1997.
"Change the world one person at a time."
South African Team
Markus and Angelina Bihler are the team who have brought the Hoffman Process to South Africa, turning a deeply personal experience into a broader mission for impact. After Markus went through the Process and experienced its profound effect on his leadership, relationships, and inner life, the couple set out to establish a local presence in Cape Town.
Together, they have worked to build a world-class foundation for the Hoffman Institute South Africa, partnering with international teams, training local facilitators, and hosting the first generation of programmes on the African continent.
