offman Institute South Africa is growing. As we are planning to deliver more processes over the years, we are now training the first generation of South African teachers. To continue to spread the benefits of Hoffman, we are looking for dynamic new facilitators to deliver our courses and workshops. Whether your application is successful or not, we feel that the process in itself will give you awareness and many insights to support your on-going journey of personal development.


The Hoffman Facilitator training programme offers comprehensive instruction in the principles, teachings, and techniques of the Hoffman Process. It is open to all Hoffman graduates who completed their Process six months ago or more.

As training progresses, you will be required to spend significant time and energy focusing on preparing pieces in advance of each process. Your attendance at all the below is a compulsory part of the training. Please read the following steps carefully.

Application

  • Write a personal statement (1,500 words)

  • Upload your CV and a photograph

Make a video of yourself teaching the concepts of either the Negative Love Syndrome or What is a Pattern? During your presentation, you should introduce yourself and say why you came to do the Hoffman Process, what it has given you and any other personal information that you feel is relevant, The video is a maximum of 10 minutes.

Write a personal statement of no more than 1,500 words describing your background, including the people and events that have had the greatest impact of you. Emphasise the experiences that have most shaped your interest in becoming a Hoffman facilitator. Over the course of approximately 12-18 months, the training to become a Hoffman Process teacher will involve regular weeknight trainings, weekend trainings, a weeklong residential and the attendance of between 5-8 Processes. This requires both availability and flexibility of scheduling and travel. Briefly include a plan on how this will fit into your life over the next two years, alongside how becoming a facilitator working between 5-10 processes a year will fit into your life moving forward.

When uploading your CV, please make sure to include a recent photograph, your contact details, all personal growth workshops or courses attended. If any therapy, coaching or mental health programme, please make sure to add these to your CV including communication, facilitation and performance skills.

Interview Day

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a group interview day in Cape Town on [July]. This interactive day will give you the opportunity to learn some of the concepts of the Process and deliver them.

You will be assessed for:

  • Presentation skills

  • Listening skills

  • Flexibility with material

  • Team work

  • One-to-one work

If successful, you will be invited to attend a Process in South Africa as an Observer.

Observe a Process

Successful candidates will be required to attend a Process in South Africa in July or September 2026. This stage of the application procedure involves holding a passing role and observing a Hoffman Process as a witness. There will be some occasions during the week when you will have a one-to-one check in session with one of the facilitator team, and the director of the training will be available to offer support if necessary.

Following the observer Process, you will be given feedback and asked to complete your own post-Process report. An assessment will be made and if successful, you will be accepted fully onto the Hoffman Training Programme.

2026 South African Processes:

  • July 25-31

  • September 19-25

Note: Hoffman South Africa subsidises the training of Hoffman facilitators, but you will be asked to pay a one-off fee to cover your accommodation. Travel costs at all stages of the training are at your own expense.

Training

Our teacher training programmes will follow the below steps:

  • One week | Residential training | Cape Town

  • One week or 2 weekends | Residential training | Location TBD

  • Two weekends | Remote online training

  • Twice monthly | Online evening training

  • Re-do the Hoffman Process again as a participant

  • Independent learning and peer led learning

In parallel of your training, we ask that each trainee attend between 5-8 Processes as an intern. The level of presentation(s) will increase as you work your way through your internship. Process dates will be organised between you and our Hoffman Director of training.

The time to qualify as a Hoffman facilitator varies according to each person's experience, knowledge and availability, but is achievable within 6 processes.

Train on a minimum of 6 Processes

In parallel of your on-going training, we ask that each participant come train on a minimum of 6 processes. With South Africa being a new centre, we offer the opportunity to train in the UK.

Final Evaluation

Once you have completed the training programme and demonstrated competency in the required skills, knowledge, and attributes, you will be qualified as a Hoffman Process facilitator. Final certification is by a committee made up of Hoffman UK Managing Director Serena Gordon, Director and Co-director of training.

Post-training

As new Hoffman Process facilitator, you will continue to have mentoring support for ongoing competency, building over your first 2 to 4 processes. You will also continue training in further virtual and graduates courses. We will expect you to be available for a minimum of 6 processes per year.

Training Fees

Hoffman South Africa subsidises the training of Hoffman facilitators however while some parts of the training programme will take place in the UK (including attending and training on a minimum of 6 processes), we ask that participants cover all costs of their travels including accommodation.

For exceptional candidates, a personalised financing solution can be discussed with the Directors of Hoffman South Africa and will be allocated on a case-by-case basis.
